Bek’s love of football came at an early age, being the daughter of North Adelaide legend Mick Redden.

Bek spent lots of hours at footy ovals, in footy change rooms and involved in many backyard marks up on the trampoline or in the pool with her siblings Denis, Meg and Jo. It’s here we believe her competiveness and determination flourished. Mick would kick the football with Bek before tea and promised they would go in once she dropped a mark. Much to Helen’s frustration, Bek wouldn’t drop a mark and they would both be late for tea! Bek wouldn’t have even been 10 during the lead up to the 91 Roosters grand final, but Bek’s skills were that good, she doubled as Mick’s training partner when he was not in Adelaide!

Bek’s sporting achievements are endless, with many A grade club best and fairest, association best and fairest and A grade teams of the years for netball, just to name a few. Her fierceness, competitiveness and natural talent in netball gave her a solid foundation to make waves on football oval. Fast forward a number of years Bek finally had a chance to play footy, starring in the Mid North Women’s Football Association and leading the inaugural Orroroo Women’s football team to their first premiership in 2018. Bek took out runner up best and fairest for the Association with Kate Pearce being a key performer during premiership Celebrations.

Beks natural talent shone brightly and it wasn’t long before she signed up with the Roosters and her league football career started. She debuted in Round 1, as North’s 1st ruck, donning number 42, same number her dad wore during his 378 games for the roosters. She has played every game but 1, when she was rested. (have seen the number of bruises on her legs!) It is an absolute credit to Bek in how she has juggled her life.

By her side is husband John, Bek is mother to Dan, Ben, Evie. Bek has also coached numerous junior sports.
