Daughter of Kevin and Julianne, Kalia developed a love of sport at an early age. As a Year 7 she travelled to Victoria to represent the South Australian SAPSASA girls cricket team.

She was also an accomplished netballer who won a ’J’ grade premiership in 2006, ‘I’ Grade club and association B&F trophies in 2007. She was also a premiership winner that year.   In 2009 she won G Grade club B&F and R/U in the association. She later won Best and fairest trophies for the club in 2012 and 2013.

At the end of 2012 she was awarded the Parnell Award of Excellence for her accomplishments as a scholar at Orroroo Area School.

She won the Junior Most Outstanding Player in the Orroroo District Junior Tennis competition in 2009/10 season.

She travelled to England in 2016 and played Australian Rules football in a local competition for a season and won the club B&F.

In 2019 she was part of a netball premiership team for Blyth Snowtown in their C1 team.
